On April 17, 2017, I launched WorkFeelsGood.com and published my first blog. That first blog was about taking responsibility for our working lives. In it, I said, “Taking responsibility is the first step toward creating an authentic, sustainable and joyful relationship with the world of work.”
When I had a mountaineering accident in Peru in 2008, I’d already come close to dying at work twice before. Although I wasn’t working in Peru, I was trying to escape meaningless work by being deeply immersed in my mountaineering hobby. Soon after that accident, I decided to find something that I could joyfully do until I died. Then, I discovered my mission: to create a world where everyone has the knowledge, skills and desire to build their own, authentic working life. When I knew my mission, I took responsibility for achieving it. On that day, my own, authentic working life began.
It’s been ten years since Peru and I’ve come a long way, but I haven’t done it on my own. Thank you for your support during Year 1 of the Work Feels Good blog. This video is for you.
